Project 01

A significant project developed, designed, implemented, commissioned and audited was refrigeration optimisation at Yatala Brewery. This project reduced the units of energy to produce refrigeration from 50% of the total electricity bill to 23% once the project was fully optimised. This work consisted of changes to automation and processes as well as the selection of new equipment.

Project 02

The optimisation of the trade waste plant and the development of a site wide water management plan. The trade waste plant was installed as a first stage in 1993 which included the anaerobic stage. In 2003 the plant added an aerobic stage and these two systems needed to be combined. These systems were installed by different contractors and consultants and were not operating correctly and required constant supervision. After the optimization of the system and the modification of the automation system, the plant operates automatically with minimal supervision.

Project 03

The development of a site wide HMI system and the structure and naming conventions for a national manufacturing system. The development of automation and energy management systems require standards to be implemented to gain the best results and to reduce both the cost of development and the cost of ownership. Once the standards are established they can be leveraged on any project to add value and reduce costs. The main systems that are involved are S88 for batch control and automation, SP95 for the collection and manipulation of plant data and S99 for the automation security systems on industrial plants.
